The Youth Wing of Chennai Counselors' Foundation has been established to provide opportunities for knowledge development and experiential learning to budding professionals in Psychology and the allied fields.

To offer experiential learning to students in Psychology and allied fields.

Our Objective

To offer guidance and supervision in the application of counseling skills, facilitate research, develop and standardize the use of assessment tools and promote other professional activities of our youth members.

Eligibility of Youth Wing

Student members of Chennai Counselors Foundation, Junior Professional Counselors, Post graduate full time, part time and distance education students, under graduate final year full time, part time and distance education students. Age group - between 19 - 30 years.

Criteria for participation in projects

Interested youth members with 3 years subscription will be involved in long term projects. Interested youth members with 1 year subscription will be involved in short term projects.

Proposed activities

  • To collaborate with the concerned departments of educational institutions and assist in filling the gap between theory and application.
  • To coordinate with students and their institutions in the areas of counseling, research, assessment and related areas.
  • To aid youth members in setting career goals, assist in their choice of specialization and hone them to be industry ready.

Ms. Sai Saradha - Coordinator

Sai Saradha. V is a firm believer in the power of compassion and connection to create transformative change. She completed her undergraduate degree in B.Sc. Psychology from the Madras School of Social Work and her Master’s in Applied Psychology (specializing in Counseling) from Shasun Jain College for Women.

As part of her academic journey, she conducted research on topics such as Feminism, Toxic Masculinity, and Societal Expectations. She also contributed to organizing and conducting seminars through CCF and during her time in college.

An inquisitive learner, Sai Saradha believes that learning is a lifelong process. She actively works on upskilling herself by attending workshops, certificate courses, and seminars, including:

  • Certificate Course on Transactional Analysis facilitated by Ms. Rosemary Kurian.
  • Hands-on Practical Course on Therapy Sessions conducted by Ms. Kirti Garg.
  • Workshops on Expressive Arts Therapy, Advanced Counseling Skills using Gestalt and CBT, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Narrative Therapy.
  • Seminars on Intersectionality Among Youth Mental Health and Inclusive Community Development Through the Lens of Social Psychology.

She is currently pursuing a PG Diploma in Counseling and Family Therapy from IGNOU and a practitioner course on school counseling.

Through her internship program, Sai Saradha has also developed content-writing skills for social media. She is training to become a compassionate therapist who provides a safe and supportive space for clients to express their true selves. She is passionate about making mental health accessible and raising awareness about the importance of mental well-being.

Her hobbies include singing and exploring music across different genres. She enjoys meeting and connecting with like-minded individuals and is currently working on building the habit of reading books.
