Brinda Jayaraman is a master degree holder in Psychology with post graduate diploma in Guidance & counseling and has also gained knowledge through numerous short term counseling courses on Addiction, AIDS, Marital Problems and on Childhood/ Adolescent Behavior Disorders in University of Washington, USA in 1997.
She has also excelled by doing her M.Phil at Mother Teresa University in 2006. Her work experience constitutes of being teacher for five years from 1964 to 1969, and in to counseling from 1993.
She runs her own Psychological consultancy from the year 93 to till now, Anchor self help Access (ASHA) which offers individual & group counseling on parenting, dealing with emotional disturbances, marital conflicts, addiction, depression, and anxiety.
She also plays role of Trainer by conduction workshops on Parenting skills, Identifying Disorders and early intervention, class room Management, Anger Management, Creative problem solving skills & Pre-Marital Orientation fro parents, teachers, students educational institutions and companies.
Additionally she also acts as consultant to various Health care institutions like Rajaji De-Addiction Centre, V.H.S Medical Center, Adyar (1993), Central Industrial Security Force, South Zone, Chennai (2003), Bharathy Vidya Bhavan Mat. Higher Secondary School, Erode (1997) and also a Co-Founder & Treasurer, Chennai counselors Foundation, Chennai.
She has also contributed much of service for public like being Trustee of Agni Trust (Awakened Group for National Integration) Voluntary organization in Chennai, served for Inner Wheel club, the guild of service, Thanjavur for 20 years, and also conducted many awareness programs on addiction, participated in many media programs and written scripts and also have worked with novelist sivasankari in her serials.
She has given programs in Jaya T.V, Radio Mirchi, and Now on Sun T.V in "Mangaiar Choice". She has also written various articles on mental health in all popular Tamil and English magazines
